Yay! October 1st has officially arrived! The month of Halloween and basically my favorite month of the year for a thousand reasons.
So, what did I do with this first day of October? Well, the hubby and I took the kids to pumpkin farm (err, uh...Patch, whatever you people want to call it). Despite my toddler son not really keen on cooperating or being in a happy mood for that matter, I thought it was a pretty nice time. And side note (or question technically) here for any of you Mommies out there, but you ever notice how when the day you've got plans - real plans, not just running a couple errands and stuff - is the time that your child decides, 'Hmm, maybe I won't nap today' or something along those lines? My children are my heart and soul but I have to say, it kind of happens like clock work like that when we have definite plans like this. hah Just so we're clear, it's not really a complaint, it's merely an observation. ;)
Anyways, back to the ole pumpkin farm thing. Well, all in all it was a nice day out with the fam though. My son did seem to enjoy the hayride and well, my daughter was basically in chill-mode so she was content anyhow. We left the farm with some pretty hefty pumpkins in tow and called it a day at the farm.
Afterwards we joined some friends (with their kids too) at their place. Now home, obviously, and the kids are fast asleep, I guess I should probably get to bed myself. Because I believe one of a parents' motto is to sleep while you can, when you can. That's mine, besides my other much-used motto when people ask how I am, I simply say "Hey, if my kids are good, then I am good". This is true. Also a whole other story for a whole other time of why that motto truly has importance to me.
So ends this October 1st. My next plan for the next several days or so.... put up some Halloween decor. Fun!
